Hair Loss
There are many types of hair loss so it is important to see a Dermatologist to distinguish which type of hair loss you may have prior to determining the best treatment options. In general there are two types of hair loss: scarring hair loss and non-scarring hair loss.
-
In scarring hair loss the hair follicle is destroyed by inflammation and thus without a hair follicle, the hairs will be unable to grow back. The goal of care is to prevent further scarring and hair loss and to put the inflammation into remission.
-
In non-scarring hair loss, the hair follicles are not destroyed so there is potential for regrowth of the hair.
-
Common forms of non-scarring hair loss include:
-
Female & Male Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia)
