We want to make your experience in our Dermatology Centre as informative and pleasant as possible. Please read below to get the most from your appointment.

MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS

  • You must receive a referral to see one of our physicians from your Family Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or Walk-in Physician.

  • Please bring your health card with you and arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out some paperwork.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Dermatology appointments are typically brief and are focused on your referred skin concern only.

  • Please bring your medication list/medical history including a list of ALL creams you are using.

  • Please wear loose fit clothing as you may be required to change into a gown for a full skin exam.

  • Please remove ALL makeup and nail polish. We are a scent- free clinic.

  • We understand that sometimes a rash may not be present at the time of your appointment.  Please take some good quality photos with your smartphone or camera and bring them with you as this may assist in diagnosis.

  • Please be realistic with your skin expectations. Many skin conditions tend to be chronic in nature and thus can be treated but not “cured”.

  • Many skin lesions are benign and removal or treatment may not be covered by your Saskatchewan health insurance.

APPOINTMENT REMINDERS

You will receive an appointment reminder either by text, email or phone a few days before your appointment. You can either accept or cancel your appointment from this reminder. However, if you cancel, you'll have to call our office to rebook.

LATE ARRIVALS & CANCELLATION

We appreciate your patience and how long you've waited for your Dermatology consultation! To respect those patients still on our waitlist we kindly ask that you attend your scheduled appointment.

We understand that sometimes life happens and despite good intentions you may be running late. If you arrive more than 20 minutes past your appointment time we will do our best to accommodate you, but please be prepared to reschedule so we don't have to rush your appointment.

If you are unable to make your appointment time, please

be reminded that there is a $50 fee for missed new appointments and $30 fee for missed follow-up appointments, if not cancelled within 24 hours. Unfortunately you will not be rescheduled with one of the doctors until missed appointment fees have been paid.

FEES

How much does it cost?
If your doctor has referred you to see one of our Specialists then the initial consultation as well as any medically required treatments, procedures and followups are covered by the Medical Services Branch (MSB) of the provincial Ministry of Health. If you have an active Saskatchewan health card, there is no fee for these services, however, not all procedures and services are covered with your provincial health card.

What is not covered?

Optional, cosmetic, or medically unnecessary treatments and procedures. This includes mole removals and other benign lesion removals, paperwork and insurance forms, attendance letters, sick notes, photocopying your medical file, no show fees, and all cosmetic treatments.

A full list of insured and non-insured services can be found here: https://www.ehealthsask.ca/services/resources/establish-operate-practice/Documents/Payment-Schedule-April-1-2021.pdf

If you are unsure if something is covered under the provincial plan, please discuss with your doctor during your appointment. Some private plans may have a health spending account that may cover a portion of the costs associated with treatments. We'd be happy to give you a receipt so that you may submit this to your plan for reimbursement.

We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Debit and Cash.
