Patch Testing

Patch testing is a diagnostic tool used to identify delayed allergic reactions to a wide range of substances. At our Dermatology clinic, we offer patch testing to assist patients in uncovering potential skin allergens.

During the patch test, 50 common allergens are applied to the patient's back using adhesive patches. These allergens can include common substances found in everyday products such as metals, fragrances, preservatives, hair dyes, and more. Note that patch testing does not include environmental, animal or food testing. The patches are typically left in place for 48 - 72 hours prior to reading of the results.

Initial consultation is required. To schedule a consultation with one of our Dermatologists, a doctor's referral is required.
